Our Strengths

A Centre of Excellence Driving Sustainable Agricultural Transformation

The Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation (CARI) at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, is a pioneering academic and research centre dedicated to strengthening agriculture through integrated education, advanced research, technological innovation, and societal outreach. Established in 2019 under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0, the Centre was envisioned as a transformative platform capable of addressing the rapidly evolving challenges faced by the agricultural sector at regional, national, and global levels.

In an era marked by climate change, food insecurity, nutritional imbalance, and sustainability concerns, CARI functions as a catalyst for knowledge-driven agricultural transformation. Supported by GNDU’s A++ accreditation by NAAC and University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status, the Centre integrates scientific rigor with social responsibility, positioning itself as a hub for innovation, policy-relevant research, and capacity building in agriculture and allied disciplines.
